Being Unconditionally Dedicated to the Development of our Youth or B.U.D.D.Y, is a community-based mentoring program that pairs system involved and at-risk youth with a volunteer mentor for a minimum of one year. Mentees also get to attend group events with other mentees and mentors to participate in shared learning opportunities.

Mentors meet mentees in the communities where they live to engage in activities that contribute to a host of benefits such as promoting healthy relationships and lifestyle choices, improving education outcomes and attitudes about school, and enhancing self-esteem and self-confidence.

For many program participants, their mentors are the only consistent adults in their lives. BUDDY aims to positively impact the life trajectory of vulnerable young people while establishing lasting, meaningful connections with trusted adults. With that in mind, we are careful to select individuals who demonstrate a sincere commitment to helping young people create the extraordinary lives they deserve. Mentors are required to go through an extensive interview process including a background check and receive initial and ongoing mentor training and support.
